Account Data
Your name, email address, phone number, and profile information are retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account this data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Game Data
Games you joined are removed from your profile upon account deletion. Games you hosted remain with your name replaced by "Former host."
Payment Data
KickAbout does not store your payment information. All payment data is handled by Stripe.
Messages and Chat
In-app messages are retained for 12 months after the game date then permanently deleted. If you delete your account your sent messages are anonymized immediately.
Pinned Messages
Messages pinned by a host are retained for 90 days after the parent game closes and are then permanently deleted. They are also deleted immediately if the game itself is deleted.
Photos and Videos
KickAbout retains no photo or video data of any kind. The app has no photo upload feature and stores no images of users, games, or venues.
Ratings
Host ratings and player skill ratings are retained indefinitely while your account is active, as they contribute to ongoing reliability and standings scores. All ratings tied to your account are deleted on account deletion. Ratings you submitted for others remain but are anonymized.
Host Feedback
Written feedback submitted with a host rating is retained for internal moderation review only. It is visible exclusively to KickAbout administrators and is deleted along with the rest of your data on account deletion.
Saved Locations (Premium)
Saved locations are retained until you delete them individually or delete your account. Maximum 5 per account.
Notification Data
Push notification tokens and notification history are permanently deleted upon account deletion.
Abuse Prevention Logs
`rate_limit_events` rows are automatically purged 24 hours after they are written. They are used only to enforce per-user call ceilings on sensitive endpoints.
No-Show Records
No-show reasons you submitted and no-show marks against your account are permanently deleted upon account deletion.
Data Export
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold by contacting hello@joinkickabout.app. We will respond within 30 days.
Backups
Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently purged.
